Jack L. Lederer, Managing Partner

JACK L. LEDERER is the Founder and Managing Partner of JL Board Advisors, the independent firm providing advice and counsel on Compensation Consultant Selection, Executive Compensation Program Design and Communications, and CEO Performance Reviews.  JL Board Advisors is retained for service by the Compensation or Governance Committees of the Board or the CEO and management as appropriate.

Previously, Jack was with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), where he served as Partner and National Practice Leader of the PwC Compensation Practice. His Board and management clients included Fortune 50, 100, and 500, as well as middle-market, closely held and family owned companies in manufacturing, media and entertainment, technology, consumer products, finance and real estate, retail, and not-for-profits. Jack’s expertise includes total reward plan design, with particular emphasis on short- and long-term incentive plans designed to deliver expected company performance.

Clients served include: The Rockefeller Group, Ford Motor Company, The Taubman Companies, Gaylord Entertainment, Cushman and Wakefield, Sotheby’s, Thomson Reuters, Time Warner, and Reebok. Most recently, Jack has worked with Selective Insurance, Fusion Academy, Aetna, CBS, Caribou Coffee, SUPERVALU, Liquidnet, Georgia Gulf Corporation, Rouse Properties and Milliken.

Prior to PwC, Jack founded two consulting firms specializing in executive compensation and organization design issues. The later of these firms was acquired by PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Jack has published extensively on executive compensation issues in CEO Magazine, Workspan, Directors and Boards, and Directorship. In addition Jack has been a frequent speaker most recently at the NACD Annual Conference on Dodd Frank issues for the Compensation Committee.

Board Service

Jack currently serves as Chairman of the Kestrel Group. Previously he served as a Trustee of the National Urban League, as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Bowling Industry, as Chairman of Starcom Paper, as interim CEO Sotheby’s Realty and on two public company boards.
